Q. How much does it cost to join?
A. -Joining Fee $40- once only, not for juniors until after they turn 18
-Annual Subscriptions $75 per adult, $43 for a junior (under 18 years) or $118 per family (2 caregivers and their children) Subscriptions are reduced by $11 if a member of the National Association of Woodworkers
- Tutoring Charges - Carving $10 per Monday evening to the tutor
- Juniors woodturning Tuesdays $80 per term.
First few weeks are a free trial to make sure WAWG is for you.
Adults are not "tutored" but shown the ropes and mentored for free at our hands on meetings.
Juniors are under the supervision of a parent. (other than Tuesday mornings)
Private tuition would be by negotiation with individual members.
Q. Do you have casual attendance.
If you are wanting to use the tools for a specific project but not thinking of joining, $10 per 2-hour session.
If you are from another club or visiting from out of town we would be happy for you to attend.
Those thinking of joining come for a few trial sessions free first.
Q. What does membership cover?
A. Membership entitles you to use all tools at any hands-on meeting - Saturday and Monday 1-3 p.m., Monday 7-9 p.m; Thursday evening demonstrations - 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month; newsletters; free use of library books and DVD's; option to sell wares at public demonstrations.
Q. What does membership not cover?
Wood - we do have wood on site for sale or BYO.
Bandsaw use is by donation to cover sharpening
Scrollsaw blades: first is free, replacements for sale
Tea/coffee: $1 donation.
Q. How can I pay?
A. Use a form and bag at the main clubs entrance post box for Cash or cheque.
Internet or Bank deposit via the number 03 1513 0038084 00 which is also on the payment forms by our main entrance.
Q. I have a tree that is/has come down, do you want it?
A. Want yes, can we take it? sometimes. We have limited storage for drying wood under our club rooms but may be able to squeeze in more. Would love to hear from you.
Q. Can you fell my tree and keep the wood?
A. Many of us are retired, none of us are professional arborists, sorry but can't help.
Q. Can you make me a...?? or fix my...
A. One of our members will probably be able to help in repairs or make a commission piece. Please call or use our contacts page. Please see our gallery for examples of our work.
